I am not sure of the history behind this vintage Davenport Desk, but she is an interesting piece. The simplicity of this piece makes me think it was handmade, simply because it is not as ornate with the woodwork as some other Davenports. This writing desk, is an inclined lifting desktop, attached with hinges to the back of the body. Lifting the desktop gives access to a larger compartment for storage. This Davenport has drawers on its right side. The backside of this piece is also hand paints and designed with this desk being to be viewed at all angles. Adorned with the saying “All is well with my soul”. The inside of the desk is decoupaged vintage sheet music. Truly unique and quite conversation piece.
Distressed and sealed with clear wax top coat for protection.
